John J.K. Han

John J.K. Han, 88, of Lansdale, died Monday, July 28, 2025.  He was the beloved husband of Sung Hi (Kim) Han, his wife of 57 years.

Born October 16, 1936 in Hamhung, Korea, he was a son of the late Un Sang and Wol Song (Yoon) Han.

Mr. Han was a respected pharmacist and acupuncturist in Korea for many years.  Upon moving to the United States in 1973, he continued his career in acupuncture and was the first licensed acupuncturist in the State of Rhode Island.  Throughout his career, he was a tireless advocate for insurance coverage of preventative medicine, and he was the proud recipient of honorary degrees for his work in healthcare.

John was a skilled writer of novels, short stories, and poetry.  He was a member of a number of literary associations, and his hobbies included golfing, reading, and music.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John S. Han (Ashley) of Lower Gwynedd, PA, and Nancy O. Han (Scott Wapner) of Montclair, NJ; five grandchildren, Dylan, Caleb, Cameron, Chloe, and Christian; and his brother, Joon Oh Han (Eun Ho Shin) of Seoul, South Korea.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Relatives and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be private in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston, RI.
