John R. Ormand

John R. Ormand, 97, of Lansdale, died Wednesday, November 26, 2025.  He was the beloved husband of the late Joan (McLaughlin) Ormand, who died December 4, 2024.

Born May 4, 1928 in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late John and Edith (Flading) Ormand.

Mr. Ormand was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served his country honorably as an aerial photographer.  He was employed with Verizon throughout his entire career, retiring as a manager after 30 years of employment.

John graduated with St. Peters High School, McKeesport, where was served as president of his senior class.  He enjoyed photography, gardening, and investing and was, at one time, a licensed small aircraft pilot.  Through the years, John was a casual golfer and an avid skier who also participated in NASTAR races.

Survivors include his children, Mary B. Adams (Nick) of Conshohocken, and Paul Ormand (Eleanor) of Quakertown; four grandchildren, Mark Ormand of Quakertown, Alexandra Herbert! (Brendan), Ashley Medina (Jordan), and Alivia  Adams; two great-grandchildren, Vivian and Hayes Herbert; his great-great-grandson, Jaxon Pharo; and his sister, Laverne Broviak of Hammond, IN.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia A. Ormand.

Graveside services will be held privately in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.  Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
