John R. Pierson, Jr., 48, of Perkiomenville, died Sunday, November 3, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Kellie (Sharp) Pierson, his wife of 20 years.
Born January 8, 1976 in Sellersville, he was the son of John R. Pierson, Sr. (Janice) of Jersey Shore, PA and Debi (Dobrowolsky) Handy (Rusty) of Barto, PA.
John was employed as a lineman with Perkasie Boro Electric and, later, PECO for many years. Earlier, he worked as a locksmith at Graterford Prison. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army having served with the 10th Mountain Division.
John enjoyed coaching baseball with Upper Perk Youth Baseball and was a volunteer fireman at various local companies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with friends, watching the Eagles and Phillies as well as dirt and NASCAR racing. He loved a good bowl of ice cream, especially chocolate peanut butter, and spoiling his two dogs, Ranger and Nova.
John was a hardworking man who loved his wife, two sons, family, and friends more than anything. He always put others first and was quick to give a helping hand and go the extra mile to make sure the job was done right. Everyone who met John always remembered his sense of humor, smile, and love for life.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his sons, Zac Pierson and Shane Pierson, both of Perkiomenville; his siblings, Tiffany Pierson of Jersey Shore, Tammy Sell of Pottstown, Mike Pierson (Jenny) of Pottstown, Jenny Pierson of Pennsburg, and Alicia White (Nik) of Red Hill; his brothers-in-law, Wayne Sharp, Jr. of Telford and Bryan Sharp of Souderton; his father-in-law, Wayne Sharp (late Dolores) of Souderton; his grandmother, Jane Pierson of Red Hill, PA; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
