John A. Pura, 82, peacefully passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
John was the loving son of the late John and Amy Pura. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, John graduated from Warren Harding High School and proudly served his country in the United State Marine Corps. He married the love of his life Arlene Pura and just recently celebrated their 59th Anniversary. They moved to Pennsylvania in 1970 and he worked for Unisys, Bell Atlantic and Cavalier Phone. Later in life, he worked for H&K and in his retirement years, he worked for Car Shop as a driver.
John loved all animals, from his own dogs, cats and horses to the rescue animals at Last Chance Ranch where he volunteered for many years. John always had a love of cars, especially his 1937 Ford Street Rod. He was a member of Cedar Hollow Timing Association and was a member of Road Angels of Doylestown for 37 years. He enjoyed car shows and cruise nights with his many car club friends. He also loved being outdoors gardening, feeding the birds or spending time in his garage.
What brought John the most joy in his life was his family. He was always the biggest supporter of everything that his daughters and grandsons took part in. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and Pop Pop that was quick witted and always willing to help those around him. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to John's wife, he is survived by his daughters Melissa Smith (Bobby), Johnna Pura and Karen Pura (Steve), and his grandsons Andrew, RJ, Zack and Chase, his sister-in-law Carrie Jayne (Scott), and his nephew Jon. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Richard Pistey.
