Kenneth R. Barr

Kenneth Raymond Barr, age 81, of Bechtelsville, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Ken was born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, on January 8, 1945. He was the son of Raymond and Mildred Barr of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and one of three children. He was the husband of Susan Barr for 58 years. In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by his children, Jeff Barr of Mertztown, Pennsylvania and Timothy Barr of Blue Springs, Missouri, brother James Barr of Allentown, Pennsylvania, and sister Barbara Warnke of Prescott Valley, Arizona, and he has six grandchildren.

After high school, Ken enlisted in the US Navy where he served for 6 years in the Naval Submarine Division as a diesel mechanic. After discharge, he completed a tool-and-die apprenticeship at Standard Press Steel. He then worked for 43 years at the same work bench under several different company names, primarily supporting defense contractors. He retired in May of 2011, the same day as his wife Susan.

Ken attended Lehigh Valley Baptist Church in Emmaus, Pennsylvania and was active as a Head Usher and Sunday School teacher. Ken enjoyed wood chopping, motorcycles, and hunting. His most favorite times were the hours he got to spend with his wife and boys pursuing outdoor activities.
