Kenneth James Neal, 94, of Lansdale, died Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was the husband of Edith (Hall) Leps Neal and the late Ruth E. (Fisher) Neal.
Born October 6, 1931 in Pine Grove, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Annie (Knapp) Neal.
After Ken graduated from Pine Grove High School (where he was also an Eagle Scout), he enrolled in the Williamson College of the Trades. He became a carpenter for a union construction company. He married his high school sweetheart and soon after was drafted into the army where he served for 2 years, one of which was spent in Korea.
Following his discharge he spent his working years as a carpenter in the Philadelphia area. Many schools (including Cheltenham, Abington, and Norristown Area High School) and offices were built with him as the foreman or in the crew. Other buildings included Wills Eye Hospital and GE on the Hill.
Ken kept busy doing many projects around his house, cruising, and traveling. Tragically Ken and Edie both lost their respective spouses, but found each other through their church. They married in 1980 joining their two families.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ann Brennan (Dennis) of East Norriton, James M. Neal (Marjorie) of Florida, Jane Fetterman (Robert) of Lower Providence, Kay Powell (late David) of Columbia, NJ, Douglas Leps (Roberta) of Florida, Lynn Berger (Lenny) of Oakton, VA; and Brenda Kuska (George) also of Florida. He was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Neal, Jr. and Lawrence Neal.
Relatives and friends may call between 1:00 and 2:00, Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Brittany Pointe Estates Auditorium, 1001 South Valley Forge Road, Lansdale, Pennsylvania followed by the Memorial Service at Brittany Pointe. Burial will be private in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Mr. Neal's memory to Williamson College of the Trades, 106 S. New Middletown Road, Media, PA 19063 or St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2725 Egypt Road, Audubon, PA 19403.
