Lavina Mae Dorshaw

Lavina Mae (Trumbower) Dorshaw, of Upper Gwynedd, PA passed away on January, 12, 2026, in Willowbrooke Court at Brittany Pointe Estates.   Born on June 19, 1931, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Walter George Trumbower and Florence Mae (Dear) Trumbower.

Mrs. Dorshaw graduated from Cheltenham High School and attended Pierce Business School.  She was employed by The Music Box in Jenkintown where she was a Piano Teacher and handled the purchasing and sales of all sheet music for the business.

In 1954, she married her late husband James Albert Dorshaw and in support of his career she relocated to Minneapolis MN, Huntington Station NY, and Jacksonville FL, before returning back to Pennsylvania.  Mrs. Dorshaw volunteered at West Point Elementary School Library as well as other various committees within the North Penn School District for many years.

Lavina shared a passion for music and ballroom dance with her husband of 62 years.  She assisted him in running the Dance-a-Lot Club socials and occasionally partnered with him in ballroom dance competitions.  She was also a summer resident in Ocean City, NJ where she and her husband volunteered for the Ocean City Pops and were avid supporters of the Humane Society of Ocean City.

Mrs. Dorshaw is survived by her daughter Krista Mae (Dorshaw) Caracausa and her husband Anthony Charles Caracausa, two granddaughters Alyssa Mae Caracausa-Gossman and her husband Silas Trevor Gossman and Kaylyn Mae Caracausa-Lewis and her husband Drew Thomas Lewis, and one great grandson, Archer Cade Gossman and one great granddaughter, Annora Mae Gossman.
