Lawrence J. Williams

Lawrence J. "Larry" Williams, 68, of Lansdale, died Monday, June 16, 2025.

Born November 6, 1956 in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Irene A. (Sabol) Williams.

Larry was gifted academically and athletically.  He excelled in all sports - particularly football.  He started playing in the Cannoneers youth football league. He went on to Lansdale Catholic playing with the Crusaders football team where he got to travel and play out-of-state games.   His dream came true while attending Penn State University when he was accepted to the Nittany Lions football team as their running back.   Sadly, he was hit hard twice, suffering two concussions which ended his football career.

Larry worked as a golf caddy at Squires Country Club while getting through college and after graduating Penn State University with a BA in Animal Husbandry Science.    He then took a position at Simba Gygi Pharmaceuticals in NJ as an Animal Lab Technician,  then Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

He enjoyed simple pleasures, but sports was always his first love.  He watched all the games, knew their schedules, performance and more.  Larry also loved golden retriever dogs and had three, all named "Sam."  Most recently, he enjoyed having his lunch at the Peak Center sitting with the guys,  and Friday nights out having pizza at Bacco's restaurant.

He was a big part of the family and left behind a gaping hole.  Larry is survived by sisters, Deborah Williams, Sandra Williams, and a brother, Steven Williams of Telford, sister-in-law, Sha Sha and nephew, Louis.

The family will receive visitors Monday, June 30, 2025 between 9:30 and 11:00 AM at Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, PA 19446.  A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
