Lazar Miok, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on November 15, 2025.
Born on March 16, 1934, he lived a long, full life marked by devotion to his family, pride in his work, and an enduring love of his heritage.
In 1956, Lazar came to the United States from Yugoslavia in pursuit of new opportunity and a better life. He became a proud United States citizen on March 23, 1966. Two years after arriving, he met the love of his life, Edith, in 1958. The two were married on October 31, 1959, and shared 60 wonderful years together.
Lazar was the beloved father of two sons, Simion Miok and Karl Miok, and the cherished grandfather of five grandsons: Michael, Ryan, and Matthew Miok, sons of Simion; and Cody Miok and the late Nicholas Miok, sons of Karl.
A dedicated and skilled tool and die maker by profession, Lazar worked for the Budd Company for 33 years before retiring in 1992. He was known for his mechanical talent and could often be found working on farm equipment and tractors—hobbies that brought him both challenge and joy.
Lazar will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his generous spirit, and his deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the many lives he touched.
