Lois Ann (Parson) Strobaugh, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, Pennsylvania.
Born on November 12, 1939, in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania, Lois was the daughter of the late Ebert and Jane (Long) Parson. She graduated from Altoona High School in 1956 and dedicated herself to her husband and family. Later in life, Lois worked in banking and then followed her heart back to school and earned a degree in nursing, reflecting her innate compassion and desire to care for others.
Lois was deeply involved in her children's lives and education, actively participating in the communities of Corpus Christi Church and grade school in Upper Gwynedd, PA, and Lansdale Catholic High School. Her family was her world, and she expressed her love through countless acts of devotion—sewing dresses for her children and tirelessly assisting with last-minute school projects. Lois enjoyed spending her time between Avalon, NJ and Naples, FL. An ardent reader, Lois also enjoyed gardening and watching Jeopardy! and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team, a passion sparked by watching her father play baseball in the industrial leagues of Altoona, PA.
Lois is survived by her devoted husband, Terence P. Strobaugh, Sr., with whom she would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on July 19th, and their loving children: Terence P. Strobaugh, Jr. (Shelly), Susan Minio (Anthony), Joyce Gower (Jeff), Christopher Strobaugh, and Leslie Rudisill (Craig). Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren: Sarah Kriebel, Shaun Kriebel, Dan Minio (Elaina), Erica Mitchell (Tom), Valerie Evans (Ben), Gabrielle Gower, Alex Rudisill, and Christopher Rudisill, and proud Nana to 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Parson and Judy Parson and many nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her siblings: Joyce Clark (Dean), Don Parson, Jerry Parson, George Parson, and Phil Parson. She will be remembered fondly for her unwavering kindness, generosity, and readiness to help anyone in need.
Relatives and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. July 5, 2025 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place alongside her beloved husband upon his passing at Saint John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont, Pennsylvania. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Lois's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital:
