Lorraine M. Hopkins of Colmar, PA

Lorraine M. Hopkins, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Lutheran Community at Telford Pennsylvania. She was the wife of the late Thomas M. Hopkins.


Born December 5, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Hoban and Margaret Kelly. Her sisters, Jane Miller and Peggy Lippincott, preceded her in death. She was a 1955 West Catholic High School graduate. She moved from the city to Colmar in 1960. Through the years, she was an active member of St. Stanislaus parish. After she raised her children, Lorraine joined the work force, working as a receptionist.

Lorraine had great neighbors! Sundays were spent watching Eagles games. For many holiday seasons, families gathered to share Christmas carols in their neighborhood.

She valued spending time with family and friends. She loved visiting her sisters and their families in New Jersey and hosting them at her Colmar home.

Lorraine is survived by her five children and their spouses: Mary Jean and Tim Hummell (Harleysville), Tom and Sandy Hopkins (Spring City), Margie and Don Yasenchak (Barto), Lori and Walt Frasch (Quakertown), and Joseph and Tammy Hopkins (Chalfont).
Lorraine was blessed with ten grandchildren: Lauren and Kevin Freeman (St. Pete Beach), Andrew and Jordan Yasenchak (Bethlehem), Lindsay Hummell and Evan Krum (Skippack), Dan and Nick Frasch (Savannah/Quakertown), Emily and Matt Hopkins (Spring City), Kim Yasenchak and her fiancé, Michael Miller (Barto/Exeter)) and Jake and Callie Hopkins (Chalfont).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation services on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, PA, 19446. A second visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale, PA. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM with interment immediately afterward.

The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care Lorraine received from the staff at the Lutheran Community at Telford and her Ascend Hospice team. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Lorraine's memory be made to one or more of the following: Ascend Hospice (1120 Welsh Road, Suite 220, North Wales, PA 19454), Sisters of IHM, Mission Advancement (1 Our Lady Circle, Malvern, PA 19355), or St. Stanislaus Church. These organizations held a special place in Lorraine's heart and supported her and her family during challenging times.
