Magdalene F. Bauer

Magdalene Frieda Bauer, 103, of Lansdale, died Thursday, July 31, 2025.  She was the wife of the late Carl F. Bauer, who died June 23, 1989.

Born August 9, 1921 in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Frieda (Hahn) Decker. In 1923, she immigrated with her parents to the United States, settling in Philadelphia, where she grew up.

Magda was a longtime member of Lansdale Seventh-day Adventist Church.  She was employed as a clerical assistant at Abington Hospital for many years.  A seasoned world traveler, Magda embarked on many international adventures. At home, she enjoyed classical music and nature, particularly flowers and birds. She spent her retirement years at Brittany Pointe Estates, participating in the Brittany Songsters and other activities.

She is survived by her daughter, Edith Clark of Boise, ID; two grandchildren, Jennifer Valacka of Baltimore, MD, and Amanda Turner of Boise, ID; and four great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2025 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be private in Forest Hills Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley.
