Aug 13, 1940 — Jul 30, 2026

Lansdale, PA

Marcia W. Parker, 85, of Lansdale, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Born August 13, 1940, in Elmira, NY, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Durrans) Witters.

Marcia was a longtime, dedicated member of Plains Mennonite Church, Hatfield, where she served faithfully as an Elder and was active with the Care Team. Throughout her adult life, she was known as someone who gave deeply of herself to her church and community—offering her time, her leadership, her voice, and her steady compassion wherever she saw a need. She sang in various church choirs over the years, finding joy in music and sharing that joy generously with others.

Her commitment to service was matched by her devotion to education. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Rochester. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Nazareth College, reflecting her desire to support students with patience, understanding, and skill. She most recently taught at Penn View Christian Academy and at Dock Mennonite Academy.

Since moving to Dock Woods Community in 2012, Marcia continued to give generously of her gifts, remaining actively involved and forming meaningful connections with residents and staff. Her presence was a source of encouragement, kindness, and quiet strength.

Survivors include her children, Lisa B. LaSorsa (Vincent) of Jensen Beach, FL, and David J. Parker (Maureen) of West Chester, PA; seven grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Baker of Pittsford, NY.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lindsay Neiswender; and her former husband, Dr. John H. Parker.

Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. August 28, 2026 at Plains Mennonite Church, 50 W. Orvilla Road, Hatfield, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private in Beulah Cemetery, New Britain.

Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
