Margaret A. Long

Margaret A. Long, 88, of Lansdale, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025.  She was the wife of the late John J. Long, who died August 21, 2011.

Born March 5, 1937 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Selwyn and Mildred (Swoyer) Briggs.

Mrs. Long was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, Hatfield.  A graduate of Moore College of Art, her hobbies included sewing, reading, and gardening.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, John J. Long, Jr. (Bonnie) of East Greenville, Stephen S. Long (Linda) of Bethlehem, and Scott D. Long (Catherine Oliva) of Lansdale; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and her brother, Jim S. Briggs (Charlotte) of Nazareth.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Briggs.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church, 40 North Main Street, Hatfield, PA 19440, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Hatfield.  Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.

Those attending the service are asked to wear either Mickey or Minnie Mouse shirts or Phillies or Eagles shirts!

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Mrs. Long's memory to Grace Lutheran Church, address above, or to the Montgomery County SPCA, 1059 Sweisford Road, Perkiomenville, PA 18074.
