Margaret Ann "Peggy" Gibbons

Margaret Ann "Peggy" Gibbons, 69, of Lansdale, PA passed away peacefully and suddenly on March 30, 2018 at her home. Born August 28, 1948 in Abington, PA she was the daughter of the late John E. and the late Ruth L. (nee Sibert) Gibbons.

Peggy was a graduate of Penn State University and an ardent Nittany Lions Football Team fan. She was also well traveled, logging trips to Moscow, Australia, and the Caribbean, among other places as well. Peggy had been employed for many years as a Journalist in the print media industry, and was believed to have had the longest tenure in the Montgomery County, PA Courthouse Press Corps prior to her recent retirement. Although she never married or had children of her own, she was a very generous aunt who adored her nieces and nephews, relishing time with them on trips to Disney World, and during "family week at the Shore" each summer in Avalon, NJ. Peggy was also a regular at the Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival held each year in the third week in August, the month she was born.

She is survived by her siblings, Patricia Sauerwine (Joseph), of Mountain Top, PA and William Gibbons (Susan), of Tunkhannock, PA, her sister-in-law, Joellen Gibbons, of Iowa, her nieces and nephews, Mark, Amy, Casey, Kate, John, Charlie, and Toby, and her great-niece and nephews, Ella, Ben, and Nick. She was also preceded in death by her brother, the late Phil Gibbons.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday morning, April 7, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, PA 19446 where her Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers be omitted, and that those desiring to do so may make a memorial contribution in Peggy's name to the Lansdale Public Library, 301 Vine Street, Lansdale, PA 19446, and which would be deeply appreciated by her family.
