Margaret A. Zampetti, 91, of Harleysville, died on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, surrounded by her family holding her hands, praying, and singing Irish songs to her. She was the wife of the late Patrick L. Zampetti, who died February 15, 2023. They were childhood sweethearts and a true testament to the Sacrament of Marriage having been married for sixty-eight years.
Born September 23, 1933, in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Devanney) Mahon. Margaret grew up in Elizabeth with her five sisters. She was preceded in death by four of her sisters Patricia, Carol, Joan, and Lorraine. Her surviving sister Nancy and husband John DiCosmo of Toms River, NJ, loved playing cards and vacationing together.
Mrs. Zampetti was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, Schwenksville, and, more recently, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Lansdale. She enjoyed volunteering in the school office at St. Mary's School and will be remembered for her dedication to her family, friends and love of Irish traditions, especially listening to Irish music. On St. Patrick's Day she would bake many loaves of Irish Soda Bread for her family!
Margaret is also survived by her children, Susan and Tom deBrigard of Red Bank, NJ, Patrick and Lorrie Zampetti of Richmond, VA, and Peggy and Bob Menges of Harleysville, PA, her loving grandchildren; Caitlin, Ryan, (Morgan), Catherine, (Will), Emily, Patrick, Joseph, Kelly, (Kevin), Caroline, (D.J.) and Kerriann and her six great-grandchildren; Finley, Riley, Harper, Erin, Katherine and James who lovingly called her G-Gma. She was also loved by many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.
After graduating from Battin High School, Margaret worked as a secretary, took time off to raise her family, started her own business and was a realtor in Middletown, NJ for many years.
Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Margaret's memory to Smile Train at donate.smiletrain.org or the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org/.
