Rev. Marjorie A. Dean

Rev. Marjorie A. Dean, 84, of Lansdale, died Saturday, December 21, 2024.

Born October 5, 1940 in Meadowlands, MN, she was a daughter of the late Rev. David J. and Helen (Goossen) Wiens.

Marge began her career in the insurance industry, retiring in 2000 after 30 years of service.  After retirement, she graduated from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia and was ordained a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.  Rev. Dean served a number of congregations, most recently Church of the Holy Spirit, Harleysville.

Survivors include her children, Sharon D. Saul (Jonathan) of Lansdale, and Brent A. Dean  of Bartlett, IL; three grandchildren, Kristen E. Saul, Clara J. Dean, and Connor A. Dean; and a brother, Rev. Gary Wiens of Washington State.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Toby Franz; and brother, Victor Wiens.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Church of the Holy Spirit, 2871 Barndt Road, Harleysville, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be private in Trinity Lutheran Church Columbarium.  Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
