Mary Ann Confer

Mary Ann Confer, 75, of Hatfield passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

Born October 15, 1949, in Johnstown, PA she was a daughter to the late Joseph and Isabelle (Borwick) Labencki.

Mary Ann forged an impressive career in a demanding field as a corporate director in the chemical industry.  She found great joy in travelling to Europe, especially the quaint and lovely streets of Paris, and to different areas of the United States.

To all who knew Mary Ann it was obvious she had dynamic artistic qualities.  She was a passionate gardener and landscaping architect.  She transformed outdoor spaces into picturesque settings.  She also treated friends and especially family to culinary delights. Her meals were more than just food, for they brought everyone together around her table. She will be dearly missed as the "Rock" of the family.

She is survived by her son, Joseph S. Christy of Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Odette and Boden;  her sister, Barbara Jedrzejek; nieces and nephews, Phillip Jedrzejek, Krysia McLaughlin, Edward Jedrzejek, Erin McLaughlin, Michael McLaughlin, Jonathan Jedrzejek, and Allison Jedrzejek.

A Graveside service will be on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 12:30 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, PA.
