Mary Irene Kohler (Park), 82, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 4, 2026, surrounded by love.
Born on April 16, 1944, in Mapleton Depot, Pennsylvania, Mary was the daughter of the late Anthony and Freda (Leonard) Park. She was the devoted wife of Marwood Kohler, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage, a loving family, and countless adventures.
Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Caring and kind, she possessed a gentle simplicity that brought comfort to those around her. She was strong yet soft and loved quietly but fiercely.
She kept close watch over everyone she loved, checking in often and making sure no birthday passed without a little extra love. She was loyal, thoughtful, and generous with her kindness, becoming the steady center people sought when they needed a listening ear.
Mary told the very best stories, often carrying those listening back to a simpler time. She spoke fondly of growing up on the farm where she was born, her parents, her brothers Lester and Donald, family, and the special relationship she shared with her grandparents, dancing, and finding joy in life’s smallest moments. She had a deep appreciation for nature and a quiet understanding that life extended beyond what could be seen.
Mary possessed an adventurous spirit. She and Marwood traveled throughout the continental United States, visiting 49 of the 50 states. Throughout her life they would travel and were accompanied by their children, her brothers and Marwoods brothers, their wives, and their nieces and nephews. She also served as a devoted Girl Scout leader with her daughters when they were younger.
Throughout life’s adversities, Mary was a survivor but always was a caretaker first. She was often happiest sitting back, observing those around her with admiration, and laughing as life unfolded.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Marwood Kohler; their four children, Michele Loeb and her husband, David, of Lansdale; Marwood Kohler Jr. and his wife, Michele, of Schwenksville; Melinda Schneider and her husband, David, of Lansdale; and Matthew Kohler and his wife, Bethann, of Lansdale; as well as 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers.
Mary’s kindness, stories, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered for generations to come.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11th, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home in Lansdale, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler, Pennsylvania following the service.
