Mary Ellen Snyder

August 1, 1957 — May 20, 2026

Mary Ellen Snyder, 68, of Hatfield, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of Gerald W. Snyder, her husband and partner for 47 years.

Born August 1, 1957 in Hatfield, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Claire (Matthews) Vincent.

Mary Ellen was someone who found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. She loved taking walks with her husband and their dogs, especially when surrounded by the beauty of nature. Whether she was in the mountains, watching the ocean waves, boating on the Chesapeake Bay, or sitting on her back deck watching the birds, deer, and foxes, she felt most at home outdoors.

Her greatest happiness came from the people she loved. She treasured time spent with her family and friends, from long road trips and quiet conversations to making crafts and memories with her grandchildren. She had a warm heart, a caring spirit, and a way of making everyday moments feel special. She will be remembered for her love of family, her appreciation for nature, and the comfort and happiness she brought to those around her. Her memory will live on in mountain views, ocean breezes, Chesapeake sunsets, birdsong, and the simple moments shared together.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn Marie Cowley (James) of Hatfield; three grandchildren, Jamison, Seamus, and Arlo; and her siblings, Kenneth Vincent (Terry) of East Greenville, Sally Palfrey of Lansdale, and Patricia Owsiak of Old Forge, NY.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Lee Snyder; son, Charles James Patrick Snyder; and brother, Bernard Vincent.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 424 S. Main St., North Wales, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary Ellen's memory to SARC (Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration).
