Matthew R. Preston

Matthew “Matt” Royden Preston, 41, of Lansdale, PA passed away on November 3rd 2026. Matt was born on September 2nd 1985 in Abington, PA and spent his life in various roles to include culinary, security, and customer service.

Matt will be remembered for the memories he created, the love he shared for his son, fishing, artwork, and the ability to write rap songs. Art truly was a place where Matt found refuge as art became a language for expressing what words sometimes could not. It offered a way to navigate life’s challenges, make sense of difficult moments, and transform purpose into something beautiful. The Jersey Shore held a special place in Matt’s heart. There was something about the ocean, the salt air, and the endless horizon that brought a sense of peace and belonging. The shore was more than a place–it was a feeling and a place that brought him comfort. He had a smile that lit up a room and enjoyed holidays with family. Matt loved movies, especially rom-coms and horror movies.

He is survived by his father, Robert F. Preston IV and mother Susan J. Preston, his sister, Melissa M. Garcia (Carl), nieces, Caitlyn Garcia and Carissa Geiger, and his beloved son, Nolan R. Preston along with Nolan’s mother Suzanne Herbst, additionally with other family members, relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Robert “Bob” Preston V, and Allison A. Preston.

Viewings will be held on Monday, November 9th from 6pm-8pm and November 10th from 10am-11am followed by a memorial service from 11am-11:30am.
