Michael James Robinson

Michael James Robinson, 63, of Lansdale, died unexpectedly at his residence on May 27, 2021. He was the loving husband of Evelyn Matthews Robinson.

Born March 2, 1958, in the Juniata section of Philadelphia, he was the son of Catherine (Sterrett) Robinson and the late James G. Robinson.

Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons; Michael James Robinson, Jr (Nicole), of Herdon, VA and Matthew Joseph Robinson, of Philadelphia; siblings, James G. Robinson, Jr (Jennie), of Cinnaminson, NJ, and Christine (Mike) Kasiewski, of Philadelphia. He is predeceased by a sister, Kathleen (Steve) Wermuth.

Mike was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School (Class of 1976). He continued his education at Lehigh University, where he played soccer and baseball, and received his B.S. in Accounting. He went on to play professional soccer for the Philadelphia Fury. He then received his M.B.A. at the University of Louisiana, Monroe, where he also coached men's varsity soccer. He enjoyed coaching soccer, including his sons' teams, at Montgomery United Soccer Club for many years.

There will be a viewing on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, PA.

A second viewing will be on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 9:30 – 10:45 A.M. at Corpus Christi Church (where he was a parishioner), 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale; followed by his Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia.
