Pastor JR Damiani, 79, of Woxall, entered into his eternal home Monday, December 14, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Collins) Damiani, his wife of 58 years.

Born February 6, 1941 in Woxall, where he lived all of his 79 years, JR was a son of the late Alfred, an Italian immigrant from Popoli, Italy, and his wife Mary (Lobue) Damiani.

JR worked in the family trade as a shoe cobbler at "Al's Shoe Center" in Lansdale for many of his early years. At a very young age he ran the store when his dad left for extended times to preach and evangelize (also a bit of a family trade). JR ended up leaving high school early to work full time at the shoe shop to help the family make ends meet.

JR was known by all as a powerful man of God who gave his life in service to the gospel of Jesus Christ. He began his life in public ministry at the age of 19 when he began traveling and evangelizing throughout the northeast with his gospel quartet, The Eastmen. Throughout his years in music ministry, he recorded 29 albums, traveled with various forms of the group all over the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean, and reached countless lives for Jesus. JR always felt a call to ministry and considered his time ministering in churches and concert venues to be his training ground for his life as a pastor.

Over the years, JR supplemented his income by selling real estate and running an Italian Sub shop. He put his whole heart into whatever his hands found to do. JR had an incredible work ethic and a servant's heart.

In 1984, JR and his wife Beverly were called to a new phase of ministry as they planted Family Worship Center, which continues to be a thriving church in the greater Philadelphia area. Pastor JR served faithfully until his retirement in January of 2020 when he passed on the pastoral mantle to his son David. JR loved the people of FWC with all the love he had, which was a considerable amount. He was proud of the work God led him to accomplish, and his church community rejoices that he is finally reaping his reward in Heaven.

JR was known to many as a talented musician and a dedicated pastor of his flock. But more than this, he was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. Those who know him best will forever remember his quick wit, his infectious laugh, his kind heart, his love of classic cars, his occasional skill on the golf course, and his acumen as a hunter. You can count yourself as blessed if you had the chance to sit with him and his bride Bev at their kitchen table talking about whatever came to mind. In his later years, he loved to reminisce about his quartet days, his favorite cars, his family and friends who went before him into glory, and more than anything, the love he had for his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Becky Alderfer (John) of Harleysville, Marie D. Humphrey (Kent) of Bowling Green, KY, Chrissy Floyd (Nelson III) of Woxall, David A. Damiani (Heather) of Woxall, and Jonathan D. Damiani of Pasadena, CA; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bettie Miller (Pete) of Woxall, and Lilia "Tita" Schaffer, also of Woxall; and a brother, Timothy Damiani (Wendla) of Milford, PA.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ellis, Victor David, Paul, Peter, and John.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, funeral services and burial will be private in Tabor Methodist Church Cemetery, Woxall.
