Patricia Ann Campanell, known to those who loved her as Patty, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on September 9, 1955, to the late Eileen M. (née Daly) and James E. Campanell, Patty grew up in Audubon, NJ, where she graduated from Audubon High School before earning a Bachelor's degree from Rowan University.
Patty was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Howie Kent, of Brigantine, NJ and the proud mother of three children: Kimberly Nastasi Klein (Ari) of Fairfax, VA; John Nastasi (Erica) of Haddonfield, NJ; and James Nastasi (Ashley) of Collegeville, PA. She was also the cherished grandmother of eight: Katherine, Claire, Paige, Jacob, Reese, Bennett, Joshua, and John. Patty is also survived by her sister, Sally Markus (Chuck) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and her brother, James Campanell (Ruth) of Brighton, CO, along with many loving nieces and nephews. Patty will also be missed by many dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.
Patty led a full life of travel and adventure, and she was committed to her community. She raised her children in Haddon Heights, NJ, where Patty was an active member of the community serving on the Haddon Heights Public School Board, coaching youth sports, and serving on the executive committee for a local ballet company.
In 2009, Patty moved to Brigantine, NJ, where she became an active member of the Elks Club, enjoying the fellowship that came with it. She was an avid traveler, seeking new experiences and making memories with those she loved. Patty was happiest down the shore, where she enjoyed rowing on the back bays, cycling, and walking for miles along the beach. She also loved live music, always eager to attend concerts and share those moments with friends and family.
Patty was a force of nature — warm, vibrant, and full of life. Her energy, generosity, and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Patty's life will be held in the Spring of 2025 with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at https://givenow.lls.org/. Patty's family takes great comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, compassion, and community will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
