Patricia Marie Mallon (nee Hogan), 75, of Hatfield, passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2026 following a multi-year struggle with cancer. Born on March 5, 1951, in Philadelphia, PA to the late John and Pearl Hogan.
Pat grew up in the Parkwood section of Philadelphia and graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School in 1969.
Growing up alongside NASA’s space race had a profound effect on Pat and it influenced her decision to major in Astronomy in college. She followed her passion and graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Astronomy in 1973. It was there that she met her future husband, Paul Mallon, in a Quantum Mechanics class. They were married on January 19, 1975 and together enjoyed 51 years of loving partnership.
After college, Pat worked at IBM as a Systems Engineer until she became a stay-at-home mom to her three children. Pat volunteered at her children' s schools in various capacities including coach, physical education teacher and computer science instructor. Pat was adored by her family and she created a home that was loving, supportive and fun. She was always available to her children and supported and encouraged all of their endeavors. She was a constant presence at all of their activities, sporting events and significant life events.
Pat’s own hobbies over the years included playing tennis, gardening, walking at the park, raising butterflies and watching the Phillies. In recent years, Pat raised and released over 1,300 butterflies into the wild including her favorite, the threatened Monarch butterfly.
Pat is survived by her devoted husband, Paul of Hatfield; her children Kathleen Mallon (Tony) of Lutz, FL, Debra Korenkiewicz (Jim) of Phoenixville, PA and Paul Mallon (MaryKay) of Stratford, NJ; two grandchildren, Brayden Mallon and Nathan Mallon; and two siblings, Jack Hogan (Pat) and Cindy Keown.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation from 10:00-11:00am followed by a memorial service at 11:00am on Friday August 14, 2026 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, PA 19446.
