Premiben (Paliben) Parsottambhai Patel, daughter of Dahyabhai Laxmanbhai Patel and Dahyiben Dahyabhai Patel, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025 at 10:13 AM at the age of 96. She was born in Pitha, Gujarat on June 15, 1928 and was most recently living with her youngest son in Natick, MA. She often traveled to stay with her family in Pennsylvania and Tennessee. She also had the chance to visit India this past January to see her home in Bodlai. She passed away in Lansdale, PA, which was her first hometown in the US. She left behind a big loving family of five sons - Ramanbhai, Dhansukhbhai, Chandrakant, Mahendra, and Praful; four daughters - Manjulaben, Hasuben, Kailas, and Nayna; as well as 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
As narrated by her grandchildren:
Our Gee was the matriarch of our family, the unwavering pillar of love and strength who touched every life around her. She poured love into the world and taught us the true meaning of hard work and dedication, and the beauty of life's simplest joys— like sunny days and fresh rotlas. A lover of nature and animals, she enjoyed sitting outside or by a window, taking in the world with deep appreciation and greeting every bird in sight. She spent much of her life running a farm in India, and passed down her love of plants to her family. Her children now maintain gardens and cherish mogra plants, her favorite flower, as a living tribute to her memory. Though she only studied for four years, her dedication to knowledge was boundless. She read spiritual books every morning and after her afternoon nap, and instilled in us the importance of education, ensuring her children and grandchildren had the opportunities she once longed for. With nine children and countless grandchildren, she had an extraordinary gift of making us feel uniquely loved, knowing exactly what we each needed, and nurturing a personal bond with each of us. She had a robust social life, staying in touch with everyone through phone and FaceTime calls. She never missed a birthday phone call, never let a day pass without checking in on her kids, and above all, she succeeded in building the close-knit family she had always dreamed of. In her final days, she was surrounded by that very family she built, reminiscing about joyful moments and sipping her favorite sherdi no rus, leaving us with a legacy of love that will never fade.
