Robert E. Forst

Robert E. Forst, 95, of Lansdale, died Saturday, May 3, 2025.  He was the husband of the late Elaine (Landis) Forst, who died January 18, 2020.

Born November 27, 1929 in Lansdale, he was a son of the late Rudolph and Mary (Hendricks) Forst.

Mr. Forst was employed as an engineer in the telecommunications industry for many years, retiring from AT&T.  Upon retirement, he enjoyed working as a bus driver with North Penn School District.

Bob proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force.

Bob was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and usher and sang in the choir. Bob was also a fifty-year member of the Shiloh-Macalla Lodge No. 558 F&AM where he was a past Worshipful Master.  He was also active with the Lulu Shriners having served as its band director.

An avid traveler, Bob enjoyed vacationing in Europe, cruising, and going on cross-country trips with family and friends.  Earlier in life, he was a standout athlete who played football, basketball, and ran track.

Survivors include his daughter, Robin Frederick (Larry) of Cape Coral, FL; daughter-in-law, Deborah A. Forst of Lansdale; four grandchildren, Lauren Rainer (Cody), Robert Forst (Kellie), Matthew Frederick (Kristen), and Amanda Forst; three great-grandchildren, Brianna Ortiz, Andrew Ortiz and Jackson Forst and his great-great-grandson, Wesley Hess.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Forst; and brother, Rudolph Forst, Jr.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, with a Masonic Service at 10:45 a.m.  The Funeral Service will begin 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with interment to follow in Trinity Lutheran Church Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Mr. Forst's memory to Shriners Children's Philadelphia, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140.
