Obituary for Robert Reuben Hentz
October 5, 1935 – February 20, 2025
Robert Reuben Hentz, age 89, of Lansdale, PA, passed away on February 20, 2025. He was the cherished husband of Philippina "Phil" E. (Longello) Hentz.
Robert, affectionately known as Bob, was born on October 5, 1935, in Hegins, PA, to Reuben A. and Blanche M. (Herb) Hentz.
Bob was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church in Lansdale. He also served his country with pride and honor as a member of the United States Air Force, a testament to his strong sense of duty and patriotism. His honorable discharge was a badge he wore with respect and dignity and proudly displayed it everywhere honoring his service and his country.
Bob had a passion for various hobbies and activities. He was an avid woodworker, gardener, and bird watcher, often found feeding the birds that visited his garden. A long-time member of the YMCA, Bob enjoyed exercising and maintaining his physical health. He was well-known in his neighborhood for his daily walks, where he became a beloved figure to the local dogs, who would eagerly wag their tails in anticipation of a treat from Bob.
Upon retiring, Bob discovered a love for baking and cooking, delighting his family with his culinary creations. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, which was his greatest joy and priority.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Philippina "Phil" E. Hentz; his two children, Robert M. Hentz of Ambler and Linda M. Booth (Peter) of Harleysville; his grandchildren, Rachael Curtin, Brittney Williams (Isaiah), and Andrew Booth; and his great-grandchildren, Madison Cook and Austin Curtin; siblings, Randy Hentz (Charleene), James Hentz; Sister in law Sherrie Longello, along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Brother Thomas Hentz, Brother in Law : Stephen Longello and sister in law Judy Hentz.
The family will receive friends starting at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Elm Terrace Gardens, 660 N Broad St, Lansdale, PA 19446. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Burial will be private.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of kindness, service, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
