Royden R. Rittenhouse, 98, of Lansdale, died Tuesday, November 25, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Erma (Alderfer) Rittenhouse, who died August 5, 2011.
Born July 21, 1927 in Lansdale, he was a son of the late Abram and Elizabeth (Ruth) Rittenhouse.
Mr. Rittenhouse was employed as a Plant Engineer with Hatfield Quality Meats for many years. He was a lifelong, dedicated member of Plains Mennonite Church, Hatfield, where he was active with the property committee.
Royden's hobbies included hunting, fishing, and anything car related. He also enjoyed volunteering at Care and Share, Souderton.
Survivors include his children, Robert L. Rittenhouse (Jodie) of Lansdale, and Patricia Freed (Darryl) of Quakertown; five grandchildren, Ashley Rittenhouse (Eric Ager), Aaron Freed (Amy), Brooke Rittenhouse, Stephanie Yoder (late Justin), and Nathaniel Freed (Kaitlyn); six great-grandchildren, Henry, Rowan, Ashton, Leo, Wesley, and Summer; and a brother, Abram Rittenhouse (Ruth) of Harrisonburg, VA.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Rittenhouse.
Relatives and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Plains Mennonite Church, 50 W. Orvilla Road, Hatfield, PA 19440 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the adjacent cemetery. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in his memory to Plains Mennonite Church, address above.
