Rudolph J. Goetter

Rudolph J. "Rudy" Goetter, 92, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and sons.

Born in Hatfield on July 24, 1934, Rudy spent his entire life in the community he loved. It was there that he was born, raised his family, and built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and family.

Rudy was the son of the late Frank and Katherine (Bold) Goetter. He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Harvey and Mae Kratz, as well as several brothers and sisters.

For many years, Rudy was employed by Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc., where he earned a reputation for his dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic. A talented craftsman, he was always happiest when working with his hands. He spent countless hours in his workshop, creating beautiful woodworking projects that will remain cherished by family and friends for generations to come.

Rudy proudly served his community as a Life Member of the Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company. He was also a devoted member of St. Maria Goretti Parish in Hatfield, where he generously shared his woodworking talents on numerous projects and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

In his free time, Rudy enjoyed fishing, traveling, and exploring the country. He took great pride in having visited all 50 states.

Above all, Rudy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley (Kratz) Goetter, with whom he shared more than 65 years of marriage; his sons, Glenn Goetter and his wife, Iris; Rudy Goetter and his wife, Lisa; and Mark Goetter and his wife, Kristin; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Rudy's life was a testament to the values he held dear: faith, family and service. His family finds comfort in knowing that the legacy he built through his love, generosity, and example will continue through the many lives he touched.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2026 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Hatfield. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.

Rudy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
