Shirley S. Schellinger

Shirley S. Schellinger, 93, of Lansdale, died Saturday, July 13, 2024.  She was the beloved wife of the late George B. Schellinger, who died June 20, 1987.

Born October 22, 1930 in Quakertown, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Mary (Strawsnyder) Schmidt.

Mrs. Schellinger was employed with North Penn School District for many years, retiring in the 1980s.  She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale, where she was active with the Evangelism Committee and volunteered at the church office and daycare.

Her hobbies included bowling, reading, word searches, and pinochle.  Shirley also enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her children, Cynthia Riley (Stephen) of Phoenixville, and Barry Schellinger (Rosemary) of Sellersville; three grandchildren, Matthew Schellinger of Lansdale, Emily Collins (Theo) of Trappe, and Hayley Adoptante (Leandro) of Kingston, NY; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Jr., Faith, Olivia, and Avery; her siblings, Frederick Schmidt (Margaret "Peggy") of Telford, and Carol Krieble (Willard) of Largo, FL; and her sister-in-law, Nancy Schmidt of Lansdale.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Schellinger; grandson, Bryan Schellinger; and brother, Kenneth Schmidt.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Shirley's memory to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446.
