With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Solon Clare Honicker, a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on May 10, 1945 in St. Claire, PA, Solon departed this life on January 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and humor that touched all who knew him.

Solon proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, demonstrating the same dedication and strength that defined him throughout his life.

From a young age, Solon's strong work ethic was evident. He began his career on the Honicker Dairy Farm, later becoming a proud Teamster and a dedicated volunteer firefighter, always putting others first and protecting his community.

Solon cherished weekends and summers at the shore, where he created lasting memories with family and friends. Affectionately known as the "Mayor of the Campground," his outgoing personality and genuine warmth made everyone feel welcome. Whether sharing laughs, stories, or advice, Solon's presence at the campground was unforgettable and beloved by all.

A passionate sports fan, Solon had an enduring love for the Phillies, Eagles, and especially Penn State football. Rarely missing a game on TV, he was often seen wearing blue and white or any Penn State gear, eagerly cheering on the Nittany Lions.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annette, and his cherished son, Solon Jr. He is survived by his loving children, James Honicker (Mara) and Tamara Holland (Wayne), who carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and humor. His siblings Ed Honicker, Judy Barnes (Jerry) Beth Krammes (Bob) along with ten grandchildren and six great- grandchildren, whose lives he touched deeply, celebrating their accomplishments and encouraging their dreams.

Solon had a remarkable sense of humor, never missing an opportunity to bring a smile to someone's face. His ability to make others laugh was one of his most cherished gifts, and it will be remembered with love by all who knew him.

As we reflect on Solon's incredible life, let us honor the love, laughter, and countless moments of joy he shared with us. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit lives on in the rich tapestry of memories he created.
