Sylvia D. Kellet, 89, of Lansdale, passed away on Friday, June 12th, 2026.
Sylvia was born May 13th, 1937, in Sellersville, PA to the late Ernest and Laquita (Stahler) Shaffer.
She was a graduate of Elizabethtown College and worked as a medical secretary at Abington Hospital. She also worked at Raytor Manufacturing as a purchasing agent and UKM as a secretary and in accounts payable.
Sylvia married Jack Kellet in 1960, and they were together until his death in 1999. They attended many stock car races at Grandview Raceway over the years and also enjoyed vacations to Canada.
Sylvia was a lifetime member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale where she was active in the Trinity Seniors group, grief share group and the quilters group. She also volunteered in the office, helping to count the offerings. Sylvia put her business mind to work volunteering for many years with the PEAK Senior Center assisting in free tax preparations for seniors.
She was always up for an adventure and loved to travel. She took many cruises, traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, and jetted off internationally many times. She was always up for a trip and a good, fun time! She liked to crochet and happily shared this skill with her nieces and great nieces and nephews. Sylvia was also an avid reader, also a hobby she loved to share with her family.
Sylvia loved being a "great" aunt to her nieces and nephew. She could not have been more thrilled to be promoted to an official Great Aunt and loved spoiling her great nieces and nephews with endless book readings, crafts, playing games and cards on beach trips.
Sylvia is survived by her brother Bruce K. Shaffer (late wife Gail); three nieces and one nephew, Jennifer Shaffer Willison (Stephen), Rebecca Shaffer Mannion (John), Keith Rothermel (Lisa), and Karen Speece (Dave); as well as ten great-nieces and nephews and a great-great niece and a great-great nephew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, Jack Kellet and her sister Lorna (Shaffer) Rothermel in 2025.
A memorial service and interment in the columbarium at Trinity Lutheran Church will be planned at a future date.
Arrangements entrusted to Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home.
