Theodore W. Moyer

September 7, 1930 — December 1, 2025

Theodore W. Moyer, 95, husband of the late Helen Blanche (Finks) Moyer, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 1, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on September 7, 1930, Ted was the son of the late Raymond and Rachel (Walter) Moyer. He was born and raised on a farm in Hatfield alongside his brothers. Ted attended a one-room schoolhouse in the Line Lexington School System for eight years before completing ninth grade at Lansdale High School. He then went on to Williamson Trade School, where he graduated as a carpenter.

On November 18, 1953, he married Helen B. Finks, who preceded him in death on September 17, 2011. Together they had one son, the late Theodore W. Moyer Jr., father of their three grandchildren: Patricia (Jason) Graham, David (Angela) Moyer, and Kristy Moyer.

A skilled carpenter, Ted built several of the homes his family lived in. He proudly served his country during the Korean War as an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force from 1951–1955. He spent two years stationed on Okinawa, Japan, at Kadena Air Base. After his military service, he began a 31-year career with American Olean Tile Co., working 15 years in the Maintenance Department before moving to the Central Engineering Department for another 16 years. He retired in 1989.

Ted found great joy in time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, woodworking, and listening to music. Earlier this year, he and his beloved cat, Molly, moved to Hilltown to live with his granddaughter Patricia and her husband, in what became affectionately known as the "Pop-pop and Molly Suite," or "Fort Hilltop."

In addition to his grandchildren, Ted is survived by his great-grandchildren—Joshua Taylor, Gabriel Moyer, and Elizabeth Moyer—as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, son, parents, and brothers Albert, Edward, Robert, and Harold Moyer.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, 10:30AM at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, with visitation from 9:30AM to 10:15AM. Burial will follow in Line Lexington Mennonite Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ted's memory to Williamson College of the Trades.
