Thomas J. Ward

Thomas J. Ward, 73, of Chalfont, died Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Born March 29, 1950 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Thomas R. Ward.

Mr. Ward worked as a carpenter for many years and was a longtime parishioner of St. Jude Church and Shrine, Chalfont.  He was a devoted basketball coach with Central Bucks for over 40 years.  He also enjoyed coaching baseball and basketball with Lenape Valley and Doylestown Athletic Association for many years.

Survivors include his children, Jessica L. Fries (Ryan) of Quakertown, Gregory T. Ward of Chalfont, and Michael R. Ward (Kristin) of Warminster; six grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Oliver, Macsen, Amelia, and Logan; his sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Petiet (Jerry) of Milford, NJ and her children, Melissa and Kyle; and his former wife, Judy E. Ward of Sellersville.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2023 at St. Jude Church and Shrine, 321 W. Butler Ave., Chalfont, followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon.  Burial will be private in Frenchtown (NJ) Cemetery.  Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
