Thor Fisher

Thor Fisher, 70, of Hatfield, died Thursday, February 5, 2026.  He was the beloved husband of Melissa (Meckley) Fisher, his wife of 36 years.

Born June 8, 1955, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William and Joan (Dumbroski) Fisher.

Thor graduated Magna Cum Laude from Shippensburg University with a BS in Chemistry and from Penn State University with an MS in Chemistry.  He retired from Merck and Co., Inc. where he was a research chemist in medicinal chemistry.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, skiing, and hunting.  He was a lifelong Phish-fan and Dead-head who loved jamming to all manners of Rock, Blues and Jazz music. Thor was also an avid reader, especially of Stephen King. He was skilled at making repairs in both the home and the garage; these skills were only surpassed by his ability to alert the house when repairs were not going well. He was an excellent cook (despite his excessive proclivity for salt) who managed the household upon his retirement and raised his 2 sons, which he often said was his greatest achievement.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Liam E. Fisher of Englewood, CO, and Sean F. Fisher of Hatfield; two brothers, Krishna J. Fisher of Durham, NC, and Adlai Fisher of Vancouver, Canada; and five sisters, Jessica Dulis of New Wilmington, PA, Kirsten Fisher of New Wilmington, Allison Fisher of Portland, OR, Lydia Fisher of Portland, and Mikaela Fisher of Mount Lebanon, PA.

Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
