Ulla B. (Bornedal) Bright, 85, of Lansdale, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
Born in Nora, Sweden, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Barbro (Wallard) Bornedal. After coming to the United States, Ulla worked at the Portland (ME) Yacht Club and later graduated from Westbrook Junior College, also in Portland.
Ulla was incredibly kind and generous, always putting others before herself. She found great joy in helping those around her and continued to do so until the day before she was hospitalized.
She was very proud of her work at Wegmans Bakery and at Dock Woods, where she delivered the "snail mail" and assisted in the community store. Earlier in her life, Ulla cherished her time volunteering with children at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Ulla loved her friends and the staff at Dock Woods and often spoke about the wonderful times they shared playing games together. She also treasured her movie group and the many films and dinners they enjoyed.
Above all, Ulla's greatest joy was her family. She adored her grandson, Connor, and her daughter-in-law, Karen, and was a loving mother to both of her sons. Though miles apart, her siblings and extended family in Sweden were always close to her heart.
She is survived by her sons, David A. Bright and Chris Bright and his wife, Karen; her grandson, Connor Bright and his partner Ben Purtell; her sisters, Inga-Lil Bornedal and Ann-Kristin Bornedal; and her brothers, Per Bornedal, Nisse Bornedal, and Lars Bornedal. She is also survived by Cody, her beloved "granddog."
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, from 9:00AM to 9:45 AM, with a memorial service at 10:00 AM in the Derstine Chapel at Dock Woods, 275 Dock Drive, Lansdale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ulla's name to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation ( chop.edu/giving ) or the Living Branches Foundation ( livingbranches.org ).
