Verna L. Sperring

Verna L. Sperring, 85, of Hatfield, died Thursday, March 13, 2025.  She was the wife of the late Robert E. Sperring, who died December 27, 2017.

Born June 18, 1939 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late George and Verna (Evering) Zimmerman.

Mrs. Sperring worked as an elementary school teacher with The School District of Philadelphia for many years, retiring in 1999.  She absolutely loved teaching and shared many stories.

She enjoyed vacationing at the Lake Naomi Club in the Poconos with her family and friends. Her priority was making sure we had the best experiences.

Verna was the sweetest woman who was full of love and compassion. She cared about everyone she met and was loved by all of her family and friends. She was an absolutely amazing woman. No matter what life handed her, she was always positive, happy and smiling.

Her family was the most important thing to her. The love she had for her family was infinite, and she could have not have been prouder of each and every one of her children and grandchildren. She always greeted her family with a smile that lit up her face and the room.

Verna had many friends, and she loved seeing and talking to them. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.

We are comforted knowing that Verna is happy in heaven with Jesus, her loving husband of 63 years, her parents and all of her friends and family that preceded her.

Survivors include her children, Lisa A. Sperring of Hatfield, Robert D. Sperring (Miwa) of Pennsburg, and Linda J. Sperring (Todd Slonneger) of North Wales; and five grandchildren, Gabe (Emily), Natalie, Erica, Joey, and Bobby.

Relatives and friends may call between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 Main Street, Lansdale, PA 19446, followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Verna's memory to Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale, PA.
