Vishnubhai Patel

Vishnubhai M. Patel, 86, of Downingtown, husband of Virbala Patel, passed away on Friday,
December 29th at Paoli Hospital.

Born in Nadiad, India, he was the son of the late Maganbhai and Maniben Patel. He completed his
Bachelor's, Master's, and his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at Sardar Patel University in Vallabh
Vidyanagar. He was a professor at the University before coming to settle permanently in the USA.
Throughout his life he worked as a research chemist in public and private industries, owned and
ran a delicatessen, and worked as a weekend security guard at the World Trade Center. He retired
from the NYC Department of Environmental Protection in 2003 where he supervised the chemistry
department. He worked tirelessly to support his family. His other love was Anoopam Mission and
his Guru, P. Sahebdada. He served as President of Anoopam Mission for nearly 50 years and
selflessly devoted his life to Anoopam Mission's work. Vishnubhai's warmth, smile, and positive
energy touched the lives of countless people. It is an understatement to say he will be missed.
Surviving with his wife are his children Sanjay Patel (Sima) and Rita Patel Eng (Howard); and
grandchildren Sanil (Sneha), Tashi, Tara, and Soli. Along with his parents he is predeceased by four
siblings.

Traditional Hindu service will be held on Tuesday, January 2nd from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM followed
