Willard "Bill" Stover Kriebel

Willard "Bill" Stover Kriebel, 88, of Lansdale, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 25th, 2019, at Abington-Lansdale Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was the beloved husband of Constance "Connie" L. (Grosse) Kriebel, with whom he shared a beautiful and full life, together for over 67 years of marriage.

He was born June 15, 1930, in Hatfield, to Walter and Katie "Kitty" (Stover) Kriebel. He graduated from Hatfield High School in 1948. Bill was drafted into the United States Army following graduation, having served from 1948-51. He was stationed in Japan for one year from 1950-51 during the Korean War. Upon returning home, Bill married Connie L. Grosse on December 22, 1951, and they soon began their family. He then delivered mail for the United States Postal Service for 30 years before retiring in 1987.

Connie and Bill spent 18 winters in Largo, Florida, where they golfed, played cards, and enjoyed dining out with friends in their Fairway Village community.

They have spent their retired years heavily involved in the Dock Woods Community; attending social events, concerts, bus trips, and enjoying the company of their many, many friends.

He is preceded in death by his two brothers, Leon (Nita) and Donald (Katherine), his sister Lois (Jim) and his darling daughter, Debbie Williams.

He will be missed every day by his wife, Connie; his sons, Douglas A. Kriebel (Connie Schaffer), of Towamencin, and David A. Kriebel (Heidi Hartwigs) of N. Ft Myers, Florida; Also surviving is his son-in-law; John Williams, of Pennsburg.  He was lovingly known as "Pop" and adored by his 9 grandchildren; Todd Williams, Eric Kriebel, Jaime Rush, Heather Knickerbocker, Christine Kriebel, Stephen Kriebel, Alexa Seipt, Ashley Fossile, and Mark Schaffer; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Bill took pleasure in the simple things in life- like eggs benedict for breakfast, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for "fixing" everything with duct tape, an endless supply of "gumbands" (rubber bands), and his love for Tastykakes. His favorite past time was sitting on the porch in warm weather, listening to the Phillies "ball game" on his radio. He said so much, but with very little words. Bill was kind, gentle, and always-smiling.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday, March 29, after 12:00 p.m. in Central Schwenkfelder Church, 211 S. Valley Forge Road, Lansdale, PA 19446, where his funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately in Hatfield Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
