William Earl Heinz

William Earl Heinz, age 101, passed away on August 14, 2026

Husband of Mildred Wagner Heinz (deceased 2007). Resident of Brittany Pointe Estates in Lansdale, PA and a former resident of North Wales.

Born in Merchantville, New Jersey, he was the son of John Heinz and Sarah (Ricords) Heinz..

A graduate of Drexel, he obtained an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. He was also a Certified Professional Engineer in the state of Pennsylvania. Bill worked at Leeds and Northrop Company in North Wales, and then was Vice President of Sales at Industrial Sapphire Corporation (INSACO) in Trumbaursville, PA where he worked for 22 years. He served 18 years as Township Commissioner for Upper Gwynedd Township. He was a dedicated member of the North Pennsmen Barbershop Chorus for 33 years. Bill was an avid golfer and played from age 17 to 94. He attended and was involved with the Church of Messiah. Bill and Mildred loved to travel both domestically and internationally.

He is survived by four daughters: Gwenyth Sharpe (Jeff) of Downingtown, Melanie Baker (Brett) of Hatfield, Becky Hettema (Jim) of San Jose, CA, and Holly Parrey (Kevin) of Hershey as well as grandchildren: Kelly Saurman (Doug), Jacqueline Sharpe, Amy Clemens (Ryan), Nicola Baker, Maya Focht (Ryan), Cameron Hettema (Liza), Amanda Hettema, Sarah Hettema, Tyler Parrey (Eleanor), Julia Parrey, and great-grandchildren: Gannon, Wesley, Molly, Archer, Luke, Henry, and Emerson.

He was also preceded in death by his older brother, John Heinz Junior, of Merchantville, New Jersey.

A memorial service honoring his life will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 2:00pm at Church of Messiah, 1001 DeKalb Pike, Gwynedd (just south of the William Penn Inn).
