William B. Mondel, 78, of Hatfield, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 surrounded by his family after a long illness.
He was the devoted husband of Maureen (Coyle) Mondel, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia in 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph & Florence (Sembello) Mondel.
Bill retired after a successful 30 year career with GlaxoSmithKline.
Outside of work, he enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time in Sea Isle City, NJ. He could often be found outside on his porch with a cup of coffee watching the birds. Bill also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially educating his grandchildren through trivia. He will be remembered for his quick wit and will be missed dearly by many friends and relatives.
Surviving Bill, in addition to his wife Maureen, are his daughter, Jennifer Kerr (Tim), of Potomac, MD; his son, Greg Mondel (Heather), of Deptford, NJ; his grandchildren, Zachary, Ciara, Justin, Will, Maggie, and Emily; and his sister, Joan Fegan, of Philadelphia. In addition, he was the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Friday, November 17 after 9:00 a.m. in Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd., North Wales, and are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of William may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/give.html
