William J. Shaughnessy

William Joseph Shaughnessy, 82, of Gwynedd, passed away on October 29, 2026.

He was born on October 11, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA to the late William and Gertrude (née McHugh) Shaughnessy.

He was a graduate of West Catholic High School and St. Joseph’s University. He worked for many years in the IT department at Vanguard.

William loved all of Philadelphia Sports, especially the Eagles. He enjoyed golfing, trivia, and politics.

William is survived by his wife, Susanne (née Johnston) Shaughnessy; daughter, Nancy (Robert) Gerwig; sons, William (Kathleen) Shaughnessy IV and Michael Shaughnessy; two step-daughters, Heather (Patrick) Foley and Kelly (Justin) Bayer; sister, Eileen (Robert) Rossi; brother, Edwin Shaughnessy; and six grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2026 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 424 S. Main St., North Wales, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in George Washington Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
