William E. Thorpe

William E. (Bill) Thorpe, 79, of Washington Township, Berks County, PA, passed away peacefully in the ICU at Pottstown Hospital, Tuesday, December 22, 2020.  He was the loving husband of Jane (Loughery) Thorpe, his wife of 37 years.

Born July 3, 1941 in Philadelphia PA, he was the son of the late Edwin & Mary (Gruver) Thorpe.  He was formerly of Lansdale PA, Washington Twp NJ, Cooper City FL and Zellwood FL

Bill was an avid sports fan, playing softball and coaching baseball and football in his earlier years.  While living in Florida, he and his wife were season ticket holders of the Miami Dolphins NFL football team and, in recent years, the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, Triple A baseball team of the Philadelphia Phillies. He also enjoyed playing a round of golf with his son and his late father-in-law, Jim Loughery.

In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed by his children: son, William A. (Bill) Thorpe, his wife Jennifer; daughter, Suzanne Brady, her husband Mike; grandchildren, Eddie and Dan Thorpe and Kaitlyn, J.T. and Hayden Brady; sister Nancy Hird; many wonderful nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Services will be private due to the current circumstances.  Family and friends will be invited to gather at a future date (April-May) to celebrate Bill's life.
