Yong Taek Japchen

Yong Taek Japchen, 85, of Newtown, PA, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Gwynedd Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was the loving wife of Richard G. Japchen for 53 years.

Born November 7, 1940, in Buyeo, South Korea, she was a daughter of the late Pak Che Chik and Oh Muk Do.

Yong served her community as a certified nurse's assistant at Chandler Hall Nursing Home of Newtown, PA, and was a member of the Korean American Women's Club.  In her leisure time, Yong enjoyed tending to her garden.

What brought Yong the most joy in life was her family.  She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Pak Brown, and husband Christopher, and Brenda Ann Carney, and husband John; and her grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Jake, and Bennett.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Interment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
