Marion G. Schlegel

Marion G. Schlegel, 87, of Lansdale, died Monday, June 22, 2015 at Dock Terrace. She was the wife of the late Walter N. Schlegel, who died September 28, 2008.

Born April 28, 1928 in Kulpsville, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Lydia (Hendricks) Gehman.

Mrs. Schlegel was a lifelong member of Grace Mennonite Church, Lansdale. She was employed as a cashier with Acme Market, Souderton, for many years.

Marion was a former president of the Harleysville Senior Center. She enjoyed dining out, traveling, and reading. She also loved music and going to concerts.

Survivors include her son, Ronald D. Schlegel and his wife, Evangeline, of 1311 Mountain Mill Drive, Apt. 108, Raleigh, NC 27614; her granddaughter, Serena Schlegel, also of Raleigh; two sisters, Lola Landes of Harleysville, and Helen Detweiler of Seminole, FL; and her brother, Randall Gehman and his wife, Judy, of Chalfont.

She was preceded in death by a son, Walter Terry Schlegel; and brother, 1LT Reginald Gehman.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 at Dock Woods Community Chapel, 275 Dock Drive, Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery, North Wales. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
