Anthony "Tony" F. Riccardi, 92, of Harleysville, husband of the late Helen L. Riccardi, passed away on Friday, September 23 at home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Chestnut Hill, he was the son of the late Stephen and Bertha (Lasorda) Riccardi.
Tony was an active member of Souderton Brethren in Christ Church where he participated in small group and performed Christian magic shows for many years. He was a policeman for Lansdale Borough and Chief of Police for Hatfield Borough, for a total of 26 years of service. He was a life member of Harleysville Fire Company and was a fire instructor for 63 years, both domestically and internationally. He was a member of the F.O.P., and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with family.
Surviving are children Robert Riccardi (Terrie), James Riccardi (Peg), Jack Riccardi, William Riccardi (Amy), Donna Massey, David Dittus (Tina), Matthew Riccardi (Linda), Beth Clark (Dahrl), Marc Detweiler (Jody), and Nikki Houy (Brian); 34 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Along with his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his sisters Rita and Marie.
A funeral service will be held Friday, September 30, 11:00 AM at Souderton Brethren in Christ Church, 494 Cherry Road, Souderton, PA 18964. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony's name to either Souderton Brethren in Christ Church at the above address or Harleysville Community Fire Company, 274 Kulp Rd, Lower Salford Township, PA 19438
