Corey Alan Dietterich

Dec 11, 1993 — Nov 16, 2023

Corey was born in Lansdale PA. He was raised by his parents Geri and Jay Dietterich and was the oldest sibling to his four brothers - Brian, Tyler, Aaron, and Dylan.

To his friends and all his family, Corey's character will be remembered as that of "a wild one", in the best way possible. He was adventurous and his love was sincere. In a cunning way he was able to convince almost anybody of anything, and some of his ideas were quite bold. His kindness was breathtaking. In his adventures he was strong willed, pushing limits and living life on the edge.

Corey had a daring and spirited soul, and numerous hobbies throughout his life which he liked to take to the extreme. His brothers recall how each of these hobbies also served as a bonding point to strengthen and typify his unique relationship with each of them as well as others, and to fortify his place as the big brother amongst them. The brave leader, talented and fearless. Some of these hobbies included playing Yu-Gi- Oh! and other games with Brian and Aaron, skateboarding with Tyler, and anything involving motor sports and adrenaline with Dylan. Corey possessed an innate ability to generate lasting memories and instill passion in those around him through his own unstoppable enthusiasm for life. In this way, he leaves behind a wellspring of energy and memories that will continue to bring life to those he loved.

To reflect on a few more tangible memories- he was known for his sweet tooth and his love for late night cereal and ice cream concoctions. As a kid Corey would bring home snapping turtles that he caught, wishing to domesticate them. Then, later in life, helping them to simply cross the road. He loved animals and giving goofy names to pets, such as his cat "Booshy" and his dog "Mouse". He was skilled at coming up with goofy nicknames for people too. Corey had a passion for skateboarding, always mentioning being grateful to have taught and shared that same passion with his brothers and in awe to see his daughter naturally stand on his board, eager to ride like daddy.

Corey graduated high school from George Junior Republic in Grove City, Pennsylvania. Though he moved over the years, he always remained a loyal friend to all and gave the best and most honest advice when it was needed.  Corey spent the last 11 almost 12 years of life devoted to his partner Ashley Stefanowski and the family they built together. Together they raised Ashley's son Travis Paraskewik, and 2 years ago brought their daughter Elliott Grey Dietterich into the world. Corey had a lighthearted, easy, humorous approach to parenting and his relationship. Being a dad came naturally to him, and his proudest moments included the little family he created and his precious daughter. The unconditional love Corey had for Ashley, Travis and Ellie had never wavered, not once, and he had always been willing to go to great lengths for them as a whole. Corey was the kindest, most supportive, selfless partner and father.  He gained a second family in Ashley's family, and was celebrated for his calm, warming presence and how quick he was to laugh. Corey gained a home away from home amongst the family at Sammy's where he spent years working hard for close friends.  Being loved, loving in return, and becoming a dad were the highlights of Corey's life. He found so much happiness in the simple moments shared between him and those he spent his time with. The pain that life brought to Corey was always balanced by the love he allowed to find him and the love he gave right back.  He and his daughter Ellie share the same soft, silly, smiling soul and an adventure for life.

Corey is survived by his longtime partner Ashley, stepson Travis, and biological daughter Ellie; his father, Jay, his three brothers, Brian, Tyler, and Dylan. Corey was predeceased by his mother Geri and his brother Aaron.

Corey's family will be remembering and honoring his life, and his love for life, with a Celebration of Life Ceremony. This is open to all and will be held at Sammy's Bullfrog Cafe in Harleysville PA on Sunday December 3 rd at 2:30pm.
