Dennis R. Schlosser, 87, of Harleysville, died Saturday, November 15, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Keller) Schlosser, his wife of 65 years.
Born September 14, 1938, he was a son of the late Irvin and Esther (Alderfer) Schlosser.
Dennis began to learn the steel fabrication trade at an early age working with his father. After earning his Engineering degree at Lehigh University, he went to work for Bethlehem Steel spending time at both their Pottstown and Bethlehem plants as well six months on-site as a Project Engineer on the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge that crosses the Niagara River. He then joined his father and together they quickly grew the business of Schlosser Steel, formed Schlosser Steel Buildings to expand into pre-engineered metal buildings, and then turned his attention to industrial real estate development and management.
Along with those endeavors, he served on a number of boards including CURE International, Grand View Hospital, International Students, Bucks County Bank, and served as deacon, elder, and Sunday School teacher for many years at Calvary Church of Souderton.
He was an avid hunter and fly fisherman. In his younger days, he played baseball and soccer and was honored to serve as captain of the Lehigh University soccer team. He also played for the Nationwide fast pitch softball team.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Julia A. Dobbs (Jeffrey) of Pilesgrove, NJ, Mark A. Schlosser (Stephanie) of Pennsburg, Andrew C. Schlosser (Jill) of Souderton, and Philip A. Schlosser of Telford; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Sandy Velarde of Telford, and Barbara Hickman (Gordon) of Telford.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Rodney Velarde.
Relatives and friends may call between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2025 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A second visitation will begin 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25 at Calvary Church, 820 Route 113, Souderton, PA 18964 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Denny's memory to CURE International, 70 Ionia Avenue SW, Suite 200, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
