Gladys B. Brunner

Gladys B. Brunner, 87, of Lansdale, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Brunner, who passed away April 30, 1994.

Born March 15, 1930 in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Bishop.

She graduated from Lansdale High School in 1948, and then obtained her R.N. degree from Grand View Nursing School. Gladys worked as a registered nurse at Grand View Hospital, and retired from Lansdale Medical Group.

Gladys was devoted to her church, St. John's United Church of Christ, where she helped with Sunday school, hand bell choir, plays, and decorating for the holidays. Bridge club, gab club, and tennis were hobbies she enjoyed with her many friends. She also loved traveling with her late husband, close friends, and family. Gladys was active at Gwynedd Square, and very proud of her position as President of the Resident Council.

Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Lee Parsons (Dean) of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Timothy A. Brunner of Lansdale and Douglas L. Brunner of New Jersey; a brother, J. Merrill Bishop (Anna Mae) of Harleysville; step siblings, Nancy Hemmerle and Bruce Hemmerle (Sandy), all of Lansdale.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. John's U.C.C., 500 W. Main Street, Lansdale, followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. A fellowship celebration luncheon will take place in the activities hall from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to St. John's U.C.C. Memorial Fund at the above address.
